About Our Bikes

Bikes for adventurers

We have a range of e-bikes available for all levels of cycling abilities. If you’re the adventuring type and a confident cyclist, take our Super73 e-bikes for a spin. These bikes are so much fun and offer a fantastic way to explore the Cornish coastline and countryside. We hire out the S2 model which is a high-performance electric bike designed for the urban adventurer, built with an aircraft-grade aluminium alloy frame and a fully adjustable air spring suspension fork. Take a closer look at this awesome bike here!

Bikes for less confident riders

If you’re not such a confident rider and prefer three wheels rather than two, then the Van Raam Easy Rider adult tricycle https://rideonebikes.co.uk/product/van-ramm-easy-rider-tricycle/ is a great option. It has a unique frame with a low step-through and lower centre of gravity, giving it more stability. It has a comfortable seat with adjustable back support and raised edges on the side for better lateral support. The forward pedalling movement and the suspension in the frame also make for comfortable riding. The Easy Rider really is a great choice of bike for riders who need a bit of extra stability and confidence on the road.

Wanna ride tandem?

Want to go riding with a friend/loved one who isn’t up to cycling alone? Our Fun2Go side-by-side tandem offers enormous manoeuvrability with two wheels completely in the rear and one fore-wheel, meaning it can rotate around it’s own axis.

With the Fun2Go, one person steers, but both can pedal. There are gears on both sides and with the seats being side-by-side, riders can communicate directly with each other. There is no step-through and the seats can easily be adjusted to the required distance with a lever.

Bikes for families

You might think that exploring Cornwall by e-bike as a family isn’t possible, but think again! The Urban Arrow Family e-cargo bike is designed for carrying two small children and offers the possibility for Cornish family adventures on two wheels. The kids will have the best time strapped into the cargo box, whilst mum or dad does all the work!

Not only does the lower seating position make for an overall lower centre of gravity, meaning the bike sticks to the road better, but a sturdy and adjustable three-point belt provides safety for your children during the ride and the expanded polypropylene (EPP) provides all-round protection for your little ones. The light frame, electrical pedal assistance and stepless gear shifting, guarantee a very pleasant riding experience, enabling you to confidently navigate your way through traffic.

Places to explore by e-bike in Truro

Truro is a great starting point to explore other areas of Cornwall by e-bike. You can follow the Bissoe Trail through the old mineral mining tramways, starting from Devoran which is just outside of Truro and go cross-country to Portreath.

The St Piran Trail

The St Piran Trail runs from Truro to Bodmin, via Newquay. Whilst the bike battery won’t last the round trip to Bodmin and back, it’ll certainly get you to Newquay and back. Or you could even do a one way trip and drop the bikes back to our shop in Newquay and get the train back to Truro. It’s nice to have options!

This trail is mostly paved surfaces and takes you through minor roads and small villages like St Newlyn East (you should stop and take a look at the preaching pit here!) and you’ll pass by the National Trust property of Trerice.

Coast and Castle

This is a scenic route, starting out at Truro which will take you through the winding lanes of the Cornish countryside, taking in the stunning views off Nare’s head, the majestic castle of Caerhays midway between Truro and St Austell before heading back to Truro via Grampound Road. It is a 46 mile round trip, so you’ll need pretty good fitness, although you’ll have the power-assist on your bike to support you on any tough inclines.

These are just a couple of routes you can do when you hire an e-bike from us in Truro, but there are many more lovely cycle routes in and around the city. Check more of them out here.
