Something super exciting is coming to West Cornwall soon!

1 March 2021 by thstudio in All RideOn News

Hello. We’re Ride On – a small e-bike hire business with big ideas.   We’re setting up shop in Penzance, West Cornwall very soon and we’d love you to follow us as we prepare to open our doors for business in late March 2020.

Our name ‘Ride On’ is a play on the colloquial Cornish saying ‘Right On,’ which is an expression of great contentment, greatness or agreement.  Feeling ‘Right On’ means you have a sense of wellbeing.  We couldn’t think of a better name than Ride On for our new business!

Ride On is not just an e-bike hire business – we’re so much more!  We want you to explore Cornwall in a unique and exciting way, creating memorable experiences that make you smile, so it was important for us to work with a product and company that reflected our ethos.   With that in mind, when we were scoping out companies and e-bikes last year, we knew we’d struck gold when we found Super73.  Not only did we love their bikes, but at the heart of their business and brand was the desire to inspire and create adventure and community.  It was the perfect match!

Super73 is a Californian based company with their European headquarters in Amsterdam.  After meeting the team last year and discussing our vision, a deal was done in the new year and it’s been all systems go since then!  We have 6 bikes on order which will be with us in the next few weeks.  If you follow us on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, you’ll be the first to know when they arrive

In the meantime, we’ve been super busy getting the hire shop ready.  We’ve taken on a unit at Trinity Yard, Quay St, Penzance, which is a stone’s throw from the sea. The unit was previously an office which we’re re-fitting into an awesome looking hire shop.

Already the unit has been transformed, but there’s still lots to do.  We’ve got painting to get on with, a large TV to get up, shelves to hang, pictures on the wall and most importantly (some might say) – a coffee machine to install!   Yes, we’re going to be offering takeaway coffees, teas, cold drinks, cakes and snacks.   Even though our bikes are electric, they still require effort, so you’ll need to fuel up before, during or after your ride!

The next thing we’re looking at is merchandise and we have some other products to finalise too for the hire side of things.  We’re on it though and we just cannot wait to swing open our doors, welcome new customers and let the rubber meet the road towards the end of the March.

We hope to see you soon, but in the meantime, if you sign up to our newsletter, not only will you be amongst the first to know about news, updates and promotions, but you’ll also be in with a chance of winning a Ride On adventure for 2 people.  The competition closes at midnight on Sunday 21st March so get in there quick!

Right On!

The Ride On Team.
