2024 is flying by… one minute we’re all huddled around the communal space heater, watching the rain drive in and the 4pm sunsets, next minute it’s August, the sun is shining and West Cornwall feels like Piccadilly Circus. Time flies when you’re busy and its safe to say here at Ride-On, we’ve been busy.
With two new premises, new stockists and new staff, everything feels fresh and exciting, but to our loyal customer can feel a little confusing, so here’s the low down on whats happening at Ride-On.
Penzance
As many will have noticed, our Pz HQ has moved from trinity yard up to the mighty Wharfside! This has given George a much desired, full workshop , with room to service and build many more bikes, along with room to have another workshop man. John has been with us since the spring and knows more about rear cassets, derailleurs and other bike jargon than anyone really should. If your bike’s broken, he will fix it, then tell you how he fixed it, as you stare blankly, wondering what on earth a free hub is.
Along with the increased workshop space, the new HQ has given us proper shop frontage. This has allowed us to stock more bike parts along with clothing from Florence Marine X and full break of Mucoff cleaning products. The stars of the show however, are the gravel and downhill mountain bikes from advanced. Advanced bikes are on a tear this season and the new stock looks great.
Newquay
Cornwall’s favourite surf holiday destination has been a Ride-On stronghold since 2022, but with new high street premises on East street, the Newquay team have made getting out and exploring the north coast by e-bike is even easier. Newquay was practically built for the Super73 beach cruisers so it’s no wonder they’re so popular up there. Kit has been working 25 hours a day to get the new shop set up and they’re open now for sales and hire so check it out if you’re in the area.
Porthleven
Summer is in full swing in P lev and our shipyard shop with smoothies is ship shape and shiny for the sunny months. Try saying that in a hurry. Fully stocked with bikes and bike parts as well as the something good smoothies, Chris has got the vibes on point.
Despite all this progress, some things never change, we’re still the coolest E Bike shop around and don’t you know it! Pop in to any of our stores seven days a week to chat bikes, clothes, Zac’s latest questionable haircut or whatever you fancy, the doors are always open.
